1. What's your role within grid computing?
  Development and deployment of grid technologies that would benefit the NERSC and OSG communities. Projects include: NERSC CA, HPSS GridFTP, Gratia SGE integration.
 
2. Why did you get in to grid?
  Grid computing represents the logical endpoint in virtualized systems that can address both scalability and energy-efficiency needs. And it sounded a bit like “The Matrix”.
 
3. What did you study at university?
Computer Science and Cognitive Sciences.
 
4. What did you want to be at school?
Computer Science researcher.
 
5. What are the highlights of your job?
Being involved in cutting edge science research.
 
6. What are the lowlights of your job?
Fixing production problems at 2AM.
 
7. What do you do when you're not at work?
Teaching my 1 year old daughter about the Cookie Monster, Radio DJ at KALX Berkeley.
 
8. What are your goals for the next year?
To explore the connections between grids and other emerging web technologies.
 
9. Would you encourage your children to get in to grid and IT?
Maybe – it would depend on her interests.
 
10. What do you want to be when you grow up?
