1. What's your role within grid computing?
  High-level management of part of the London Tier-2 of LCG and occasionally putting very heavy things into 19" racks.
 
2. Why did you get in to grid?
  Strategic decision.
 
3. What did you study at university?
Physics (BSc), then Particle Physics (PhD).
 
4. What did you want to be at school?
A university academic.
 
5. What are the highlights of your job?
Academic freedom to carry out research.
 
6. What are the lowlights of your job?
All the bean-counting.
 
7. What do you do when you’re not at work?
Hill walking, playing the flute, reading, cooking.
 
8. What are your goals for the next year?
Helping to ensure that exciting discoveries are made at the LHC.
 
9. Would you encourage your children to get in to grid and IT?
Maybe.
 
10. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I think I am grown up (certainly I reached my height limit long ago).
