Nothing great is easy. Behind the sucesses of grid computing are lots of hard-working people...but they don't always agree on what's best.

While some believe grid computing has the answers, others are more skeptical.

While some argue in favour of grid standardization, others believe in less uniform evolution.

And while some think cloud computing is the future, others argue that grids and clouds must co-evolve to result in the very best IT support for our scientists.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS...

Ordinary people are making decisions about the future of IT: whether they're working in governments, research organisations, schools or funding agencies; whether they're interested in science, business or the arts... Decisions are made every month, every year, that influence the direction IT will take. This section aims to address some of the debate that currently surrounds grid computing: these are the decisions that need to be made now, for the next generation of IT and e-science.

What do you think? Are these things important? Why not join the debate?
